We were commissioned to do an arbour for a show garden that was built in conjunction with Pennard Plants and ‘Growing the future project’ at the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Designed as a ‘Haven of edible delights’ it was inspired by traditional monastery gardens and their planting of medicinal and culinary herbs.
The idea was that it would be a peaceful and relaxing garden, planted with aromatic herbs, fruit trees and useful edible plants, with the focal point being a cloister-style feature constructed from native timber, with seats for relaxing and enjoying the garden. We were very pleased with a Silver gilt medal and look forward to taking the arbour to Tatton and Hampton Court RHS shows as a part of slightly different gardens.
